April Showers Bring May Flowers!

Sometimes there are no words to give a friend hope when life seems overwhelming.  Sometimes our own life seems gray and too much to bear.  We see no hope in sight for our current situation.  Sometimes it is even hard to feel God's presence in the middle of the storms of life and we feel all alone.

HOPE!  We all need it.  If we can see one glimmer of hope for the future, it makes it easier to put one foot in front of the other.  If we can see one small ray of sunshine peeking out from behind the gray clouds, it makes it easier to smile and go about our day, knowing a sunny day is just around the corner.

As I look out and watch the rain showers, I am reminded that there is nothing I can do about the weather.  I can no more control the weather, than I have the power to grow a money tree. (oh, how I wish!)  Each raindrop falling represents a storm in our life; a disappointment, a sadness, a trouble we are facing, a dream not realized.......  We are often unable to control some of life's circumstances.  They just happen to us.

But, there is good news!  God gave us the showers in life as a promise.  He shows us this promise in the progression of the seasons.  Beautiful flowers, green grass and new life always follow after the rain.  God promises us in scripture that since we live in this world, we WILL have troubles.  In other words, life isn't gonna be peachy!  We might feel soaked to the bone sometimes with the storm currently in our life.  But, there is hope!

Without rain, we could not bloom into the beautiful flower God intended us to be.  Each soaking rain drop is a nourishing, life-giving part of us.  Just as flowers could not survive without rain, we cannot become who we were meant to be without the rain showers of life.  So, I say.....BRING ON THE RAIN!  God knows what He is doing.  I don't.  All I know, is I am looking forward to sunny days ahead and the beautiful flower I am meant to be!
